techat in Claude.
With the techat connector, Claude works right inside your techat account: look up contacts, plan appointments, find files, keep website copy fresh. You decide what Claude may read and change, and you disconnect with one click.
What the connector can do
Eight areas of your techat account, each one released separately. Plus Asana, Slack and Digistore24 if connected.
Contacts and CRM
Find, create and maintain contacts, with notes, lists and deals.
Search the inbox, read mail, write drafts and, if you allow it, send.
Calendar and meetings
View and plan appointments, bookings and meetings.
Files and media
Search Drive, create folders, find and store files.
Website and shop
Read and edit the pages, copy and products of your website.
Marketing
Manage campaigns, newsletter lists and reviews.
Courses
View and maintain courses, modules and lessons.
Board, tasks and automations
Review and adjust cards, tasks, routines and workflows.
How to connect Claude to techat
Four steps, no API key and no password copying.
Check your plan
The connector is included in the Grow and Expand plans, not in the free plan or Base. The plans are on the pricing page.
Add it in Claude
In Claude open Settings › Connectors, browse the directory, search for techat and click Connect.
Sign in with techat
Claude opens the techat sign-in. There you pick the level and the areas and confirm.
Get going
Ask Claude about your contacts, appointments or files. Claude calls the right techat tools on its own.
Without the directory: as a custom connector
If techat does not show up in the directory of your Claude account yet, add the connector yourself: in Claude go to Settings › Connectors, choose “Add custom connector”, enter techat as the name and https://techat.ai/api/mcp as the URL. In Team and Enterprise accounts an owner of the organization does this. Sign-in then runs through techat in the same way.
Claude Code
Run claude mcp add --transport http techat https://techat.ai/api/mcp in the terminal, then call /mcp in Claude Code and confirm the sign-in in your browser.
Sign-in and permissions
Claude never gets your techat password. You sign in directly with techat and decide what Claude may do. The default is Read only in all eight areas.
- Read only
- Claude looks things up and summarizes, but changes nothing.
- Read and edit
- Claude can also create and change things, but does not send, publish or delete.
- Everything, including send and delete
- In the selected areas Claude may also send email, delete content and manage settings.
The level applies to the areas you tick: Contacts and CRM, Email, Calendar and meetings, Files and media, Website and shop, Marketing, Courses, and Board, tasks and automations. Claude does not even see tools from areas you leave out. Tools that change or send something are marked as such for Claude; in Claude you decide whether it asks before those actions.
Advanced: individual permissions
Under Advanced, when signing in or later, you pick individual permissions that no level includes: tools of your connected services Asana, Slack and Digistore24, remote PC control with Desk (only on a device you have permanently approved for it) and notifications to your phone. These permissions only exist if you tick them explicitly; even the “Everything” level does not include them.
In techat under Business › Connections you see every connection, change level and areas, or disconnect it. From that moment Claude has no access.
Examples for Claude
Tasks you can give Claude with the connector. Below each one: the level it needs.
Which contacts from Hamburg have not been in touch for three months? Give me a list with the last contact.
What is on this week? Sum up my appointments and meetings and show overlaps.
Find the quote for Praxis am Park in Drive and summarize the prices.
Which lessons does my course have and where is a description still missing?
Rework the copy of the About page, friendlier and shorter. Show me the proposal first.
Read the new inquiries in my inbox and write reply drafts. I will send them myself.
Limits and FAQ
How many requests are possible?
Up to 120 tool calls per minute per connection. Above that, techat reports a short waiting time and then it continues. Your plan's limits apply as well, for example for storage, emails or websites.
What does the connector not cover?
Calls and voice conversations with Techie Live, and control of the techat interface in the browser, are not available through the connector. Use techat directly for those. Desk (remote PC control) and phone notifications only work if you release them explicitly under Advanced.
Can Claude use Asana, Slack and Digistore24 too?
Yes, if you have connected the service in techat under Connections and release it under Advanced when signing in. Claude then works with your account at that service through techat; that service's own terms apply as well.
What does the connector cost?
Nothing extra, it is included in Grow and Expand. You use Claude itself under your Claude plan with Anthropic.
How do I disconnect?
In techat go to Business › Connections and click Disconnect. The access keys of this connection stop working immediately. You can also remove the connector in Claude.
Is content created through Claude labelled as AI?
Yes. Emails sent through the connector carry the AI notice under Art. 50 of the EU AI Act, and website pages are marked as AI-edited.
Does this work with other AI assistants?
The connector uses the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) with OAuth sign-in. It is built and tested for Claude; other assistants with MCP support connect through the same address.
Privacy in brief
- Data only flows when you ask Claude something and Claude calls a techat tool for it. The result of that call then goes to Claude.
- Claude is run by Anthropic as a separate provider with its own terms. What Claude does with the data and how long it keeps it is governed by your agreement with Anthropic.
- techat logs every call (tool, inputs, result, time) for 30 days, so you and we can trace what happened.
- Access keys are short-lived and techat stores them only as hashes. When you disconnect, they stop working immediately.
- techat's servers are located in the EU.
